Mark Delman Lopes Tavares, a talented and passionate artist hailing from the vibrant island of São Vicente, is poised to make a lasting impact on the music industry. At 28 years old, Mark’s journey is fueled by his unwavering dedication to his craft and his commitment to addressing social issues through his art.
Born in the Ribeira Bote area of São Vicente, Mark’s upbringing in various neighbourhoods shaped his unique perspective on the world. Early on, he became acutely aware of the challenges faced by these communities, including social inequality, discrimination, and poverty. Motivated to make a difference.
Mark’s venture into the world of Hip Hop began in 2008 as a dancer in the group “The Maskers,” where he earned the nickname “Krump” for his exceptional Krump dance skills. The group’s first song, “levam pa céu,” featured Mark alongside Devil Z, Weedy Drake, and Kiddye Bonz, and was included in the Mad Rappers’ album “Cabeça Erguid.” This early success led to an invitation to join the group “In The Air” formed by producer Rockus, alongside artists Gugazz, Dzenh, D.N.A., and Kleiser. Their revolutionary mixtape/album “Séntod na Nuvem” broke new ground for Rapping in São Vicente and beyond.
Mark’s talent and reputation have made him one of the most sought-after MCs for collaborations within the Criolo Hip Hop community. He has contributed to notable projects such as “historia que nunca es contob” by Expavi, “Wikileaks” by Batchart, “Cabeça, tronco e membro” by Kuart K, and many more. His debut EP, “5AM Vibes,” released in 2016, showcased Mark’s introspective and introspective lyrical style.
